Frequently Asked Questions
Your Account
Yes. You can switch between different roles of Startup, PreInvestor, and Event Host from within your account.
You do not need to create different accounts for different roles.
We strongly discourage you from creating more than one account on Pre. Our policy allows us to shut down any or all accounts that we believe are associated with the same person and thereby in violation of our policy.
After pressing the Register button at the bottom of the account setup page, you will be automatically sent a confirmation email.
If you do not receive a confirmation email, check your spam folder. Then, if you are still unable to locate it, resubmit your information making sure your email is typed correctly. Most often, a typo in the email address is the cause for this problem.
If this problem persists, contact us and we’ll help you out.
If you forget your password or become locked out of your account, tap the Forgot Password? text underneath the Sign In button. We will email you a link to change your password in our system.
If you follow these steps but don’t receive an email to change your password, contact us and we’ll help you out.
Audience Participation
You will need the Event code to join the event as a PreInvestor. On the home screen of your PreInvestor role, enter the code in the box at the top, and tap on Join. If the code is valid, you will be taken to the investment screen where you can start investing the PreMoney in the listed startups.
Typically, event organizers share the event code with the audience at the start of their event. Some may publish the code on their event page within the app or externally on the internet.
Setting up an Event on Pre
It takes just a couple of minutes to set up your event on Pre. Switch your role to that of a Host. Once the basic event is set up, you can customize the event to your liking.
Follow these steps to set up an event.
Startups
You will need the 6-digit startup code that is associated with every pitch event set up on Pre. You will either receive it directly from the event organizer OR in some cases it may be on their event page.
On the Pre app, switch your role to Startup. Select the startup that you have created in case you have multiple startups. Enter the code in the field below your startup name at the top of the screen. Tap the Apply button. A success message confirms you have successfully applied to the event.
To find messages you may have received from event participants, tap on the Messages icon in the bottom bar.
You will find here the history of your communication including Updates to your Pre-Investors. Make sure you keep an eye on this page during events so you can communicate directly with audience members and answer questions.
